A Shiga DelegatioN to Michigan, USA

Overview

The Michigan-Shiga Sister State Board is excited to announce that a Goodwill Mission Delegation of Shiga citizens will visit Michigan in November 2026!

The delegation will enjoy 7 days in Michigan, including a 4-night homestay with Michigan host families. Welcome and farewell events for the delegation and their hosts will bookend the homestay period. 

  • Overall Dates: November 12 – 17, 2026
  • Schedule Overview:
    • Nov 12 (Thu) – Arrival; Delegation staying at DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Lansing
    • Nov 13 (Fri) – Welcome Gathering at Lansing Community College (Morning/Early Afternoon); Homestay period begins
    • Nov 14 (Sat) to Nov 16 (Mon) – Homestay / Lodging with Host Family
    • Nov 17 (Tue) – Farewell Event at DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Lansing (Evening); Delegates staying at DoubleTree Hotel
    • Nov 18 (Wed) – Delegation Departure
    • Nov 19 (Thu) – Arrival in Japan
NOTE: Any updates to the above schedule will be provided to all host families and sister city committees via email as soon as possible if changes occur.
